Tyler Reddick stays red hot and wins Cup Series pole at COTA
AUSTIN, Texas — Reddick stays red hot! He sets the fastest qualifying lap to earn pole for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit Of The Americas.

This is Reddick’s second consecutive pole of the season and takes sole possession of the most poles at the track, winning his third in six tries.
Tyler Reddick now has a clean windshield ahead to bolster his chance to continue his hot streak this weekend.
He leads the Cup Series in top-fives, top-tens, average finish, average running position, and more at COTA.
This lap, however, came with a new challenge. For NASCAR’s sixth trip to COTA, officials installed large white tire packs at several apexes, especially through the esses, to crack down on track limits and force drivers to stay more within bounds.
Even with the new obstacle, Reddick(1:37.760) and three others smashed the previous qualifying lap record of 1:38.000.
Ross Chastain(1:37.879) joins him on the front row while Chase Briscoe(1:37.913) and Ryan Blaney(1:37.982), who was fastest in the ten lap average in practice, fill out row two behind.
Chase Elliott(1:38.002) rounds out the top five starters.
Starting beside him in sixth is Michael McDowell. He was fastest in the sole practice session and the first qualifying group with a 1:39.02.
The surprise of the session was the lack of speed from the Trackhouse road course experts Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch. They could not find single lap speed and start 13th and 25th.
In accordance with normal road course qualifying procedures, NASCAR separated the field into two groups. Each with twenty minutes to get their best lap down, and blended the group times together for the lineup.
In total, 37 entrants fill 37 starting spots. The only open entrant is defending O’Reilly Series champion Jesse Love driving his first of several races in the RCR No. 33 this weekend.
Below is the starting lineup for the DuraMax Grand Prix powered by Reladyne at Circuit Of The Americas.
