(VIDEO) Chase Briscoe talks fourth-place finish after leading final restart

AVONDALE, ARIZ. — Chase Briscoe may not have become the first driver to sweep Phoenix since 2014 but his performance in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series season finale shows he and his team are set to do other big things very soon.

With 40 laps to go, Briscoe’s pit crew had a strong stop that put him in the lead. He held the lead under caution and for three laps under green until he was by eventual champion and race winner Joey Logano with 30 laps to go.

Briscoe finished fourth, one spot ahead of teammate Kevin Harvick who swept Phoenix in 2014. Although he failed to pull off the sweep, Briscoe finished a career-best ninth in points.
