2025 is the third time since 2004 the track will not host two Cup Series events in a season. Texas Motor Speedway hosted two Cup Series points races from 2005-2020 and one during their time hosting the NASCAR All-Star Race from 2021-22.

In 1997, Jeff Burton won the first NASCAR Cup Series race at TMS. Then, in April 2007, he became the first multi-time winner at the track.

Seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is the all-time winner at the 1.5-mile speedway, posting seven victories. His most-recent win at TMS came in 2017.

In total, 24 different drivers have won at TMS. Nine drivers have won multiple times.
