Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Weekend: Odds, entry lists, TV times and more

CONCORD, N.C. — NASCAR teams head home to Charlotte Motor Speedway as all three national series are around halfway through the regular season.

For the NASCAR Cup Series, there are 13 races down and 13 until the playoffs start, including Charlotte. The Xfinity Series has 11 races down and 15 to go, while the Craftsman Truck Series has 10 down and just six to go.

The Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR weekend, thus, is here, so here are the odds, times and everything to know for it.

  • FOX, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio
  • 400 laps (Stages end on laps 100/200/300/400)

The Coca-Cola 600 is the only race with four stages. That means drivers can earn a maximum of 70 points, which can mean a big points day for the eight winless drivers who are within a race worth of points of the playoff cutline going into Charlotte:

11. Ryan Blaney (+55 points to the cutline)
12. Alex Bowman (+49)
13. Ross Chastain (+42)
14. Chris Buescher (+15)
15. Kyle Busch (+8)
16. Chase Briscoe (+6)
17. Bubba Wallace (-6 to 16th-place Briscoe)
18. Joey Logano (-30)

Five of these drivers finished inside the top-12 last year:

  • Ryan Blaney – 1st (24 stage points, 163 laps led)
  • Bubba Wallace – 4th (1 stage point)
  • Kyle Busch – 6th (8 stage points, 1 lap led)
  • Chris Buescher – 8th (10 stage points, 12 laps led)
  • Alex Bowman – 12th (1 stage point)

Meanwhile, Chase Briscoe, Joey Logano and Ross Chastain finished 20th-22nd. While Logano earned seven stage points and Chastain earned two, Briscoe earned none.

Worse yet, NASCAR hit him with a record 120-point penalty after his team counterfeited parts.

Three open teams are on the preliminary entry list:

  • No. 84 Legacy Motor Club with Jimmie Johnson
  • No. 44 NY Racing Team with J.J. Yeley
  • No. 50 Team AmeriVet with a driver TBA

MBM Motorsports will also race with David Starr piloting the No. 66 entry, the organization confirmed to TRE.

Shane van Gisbergen will make his non-draft-dependent oval debut in the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend in the longest race of the year.

  • 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25
  • FOX, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio

All-time Xfinity Series wins leader Kyle Busch is back in the series for the first time since Darlington Raceway last fall when he finished ninth while driving for Kaulig Racing.

Busch hasn’t won an Xfinity Series race since winning in all five of his starts for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2021. He has nine wins, 19 Top-5 finishes and 22 Top-10s with an average finish of 6.4 and just two DNFs in 26 starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch isn’t the only one entering this race with his Cup Series team. Chase Elliott will pilot the No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet this Saturday.

Elliott has made just three starts in the last five Xfinity Series seasons. Saturday will mark his first Xfinity Series start at Charlotte since 2018 when he blew a transmission after 98 laps while racing for GMS Racing. He finished 37th that day.

Fellow NASCAR Cup Series competitor Noah Gragson will also be in the field. Gragson will help kick off Rette Jones Racing’s Xfinity Series program.

Ty Gibbs will drive the No. 20 Toyota that Aric Almirola was supposed to drive for Joe Gibbs Racing this weekend.

Dean Thompson will race in the cousin Sam Hunt Racing No. 26 Toyota entry.

Jade Buford will be in the Mike Harmon Racing entry listed as TBA. Meanwhile, Natalie Decker is back with DGM Racing with new sponsor Bikini Zone.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ North Carolina Education Lottery 200

  • 147 laps (Stages end on Laps /147)
  • 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 24
  • FS1, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio

Brett Moffitt is back after a Top-5 finish at Kansas Speedway in his return to the series. The 2018 Craftsman Truck Series champion has four starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway with finishes of 18th, 4th, 19th and 4th in May 2017-20.

Returning to the series after a Top-5 finish at Kansas is Kaden Honeycutt. Honeycutt challenged Corey Heim for the win before a slow pit stop dropped him back to fourth at the finish.

Honeycutt has three other Truck starts this year with finishes of sixth at Atlanta Motor Speedway, 12th at Bristol and ninth at Martinsville Speedway. The strength of those finishes has elevated him above Lawless Alan, Matt Mills, Spencer Boyd and Thad Moffitt who have been in all 10 races so far.

Other returns to the series include:

  • Connor Mosack – No. 7 Spire Motorsports
  • Jennifer Jo Cobb – No. 10 Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing
  • Memphis Villarreal – No. 20 Young’s Motorsports
  • Keith McGee – No. 22 Reaume Brothers Racing
  • Jeffrey Earnhardt – No. 67 MBM Motorsports
  • Justin Carroll – No. 90 Terry Carroll Motorsports

Odds coming soon.
