Despite solid runs, Blaney’s misfortune continues

At the conclusion of the Daytona 500 on February 17th, Ryan Blaney left Daytona International Speedway with a runner-up finish.
Since The Great American Race, Blaney has failed to finish inside the top-10 in the following five races.
Wednesdayโs (May 20) Toyota 500k at Darlington Raceway was no exception.

Blaney found himself up front throughout the early portion of Wednesdayโs race. Blaney would finish third in Stage 1 and would start second in Stage 2.ย
In Stage 2 though, Blaney hit the wall and had to pit under green. After falling several laps down, Blaney would rally and would receive the wave around with 30 laps to go.
After the race was shortened due to rain, Blaney finished in 21st.ย
After six races, Blaney ranks 11th in driverโs standings, 43 points ahead of the cutline for the Cup Series Playoffs.
