TRE Driver Analyst Geoff Bodine and Ernie Irvan helping raise money for victims of domestic violence
TEAM RELEASE

Retired NASCAR drivers Geoff Bodine and Ernie Irvan will be participating in a charity event in Florida this Saturday (October 12) benefiting victims of domestic violence.
The Run For Their Lives Monster Mash Poker Run will aid the efforts of the Palm Bay Police Department Victims’ Advocacy Program.
Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. ET Saturday at Slack Tide Bar & Grill in Grant, Florida. Kickstands will go up at noon.
“I’m buddies with everyone at Slack Tide, and I like to do everything I can with them,” said Geoff Bodine, 1986 Daytona 500 winner and 18-time NASCAR Cup Series winner. “Helping with charity is great, and that’s what this is all about.”
Stops include No Name Bar, Broken Spoke and Malabar Mo’s.
The poker run was spearheaded by Rob Amos of Palm Bay, Florida.
Amos is hopeful the event — in its second year — will have at least 100 entries and excellent weather for the bikers.
“We have fun doing charity work, and we are hoping to raise at least $15,000,” Amos said.
Ernie Irvan, the 1991 Daytona 500 champion and 15-time NASCAR Cup Series winner, will join the mix this weekend.
“People that have made their careers the same way I have, they call and ask if we can help when we can,” Irvan said.
“I got a call and wanted to know if we could come down for this deal, and I said, ‘Yeah, I can do it.’
“All charity events, we want to raise money for the cause, get out there and socialize, and make at least one person happy. I feel honored to help out!”
Registration for bikes is $25 and includes lunch. Additional rider is $5. Commemorative t-shirts are being sold for $15.
