A.J. Allmendinger returns to Cup Series full-time in 2023

A.J. Allmendinger will be returning to the NASCAR Cup Series as a full-time competitor in 2023.
Kaulig Racing announced Wednesday, Oct. 5, Allmendinger, who has raced for the team in the Xfinity Series and part-time in the Cup Series, will drive the No. 16 car for the organization next year.

โWhen I first went to Kaulig Racing to compete part-time in 2019 and 2020, I remember how I felt on the weekends that I wasnโt racing and how much I missed it,” Allmendinger said in a press release. “Competing full-time is a mentally tough battle at times.”
The 40-year-old driver last raced in NASCAR’s premier series full-time in 2018.
In his time at Kaulig Racing, Allmendinger has won 12 Xfinity Series races and one Cup race at the Indianapolis Grand Prix Circuit.
