Alex Bowman DQ’d from Charlotte Roval, will miss Round of 8
CONCORD, N.C. — NASCAR disqualified Alex Bowman from Sunday’s race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, eliminating him from the playoffs.
Bowman will miss the Round of 8 by 20 points. It also stops Hendrick Motorsports from having half of the spots in the Round of 8.
As a result, Joey Logano will advance to race for a third championship.
The disqualification can be reversed or appealed. Last year, Ryan Blaney was disqualified from the Las Vegas race in the Round of 8. Then, NASCAR determined they made an error and reversed the DQ.
