Alex Bowman returns to No. 48 at Charlotte

After missing three points races and the All-Star Race, Alex Bowman will be back behind the wheel of the No. 48 at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend.

Bowman suffered a vertebrae injury in April while competing in a sprint car race.

“Itโ€™s a boost for all of us to have Alex return to the No. 48 car this weekend at our home track,” team owner Rick Hendrick said in a press release.

In his 10 points races, Bowman has earned 3 Top-5 finishes and 6 Top-10 finishes. He is ranked 17th in points, five points below the NASCAR Playoffs cutline.
