Aric Almirola’s sixth-place finish in Thursday night’s Super Start Batteries 400 at Kansas Speedway allowed the driver of the no. 10 Smithfield Ford to extend a career-best top ten streak.

Almirola finished sixth in Thursday night’s race, extending his top-ten streak to eight consecutive top-ten finishes, stretching back to the June Homestead race when Almirola finished fifth to start the career-best streak.

Prior to the 2020 Cup season, Almirola’s best top 10 streak was six races. Almirola set this mark last season when he finished top 10 in races two through seven.

Almirola has scored five top 5s this season, the most in a season in his career, in addition to having 11 top 10s in the first 19 races, the most amount of top 10s for him in his career at this point in this season.

Almirola is currently 11th in the Playoff standings, 134 points ahead of Tyler Reddick, who is currently the first driver outside of the Playoffs, as the series heads to New Hampshire for the August 2 Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 (3 p.m. ET; TV: NBCSN; Radio: PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
