The 40-year-old driver, who started sixth, chased down leaders Cole Custer and Joe Gibbs Racing teammate in the closing laps of the race to earn his sixth career victory in the series.

โ€œThat was a blue-collar day. Man, that was a really tough day,โ€ Almirola said. โ€œWe had such a great car. This He Gets Us Toyota GR Supra was so fast.โ€

Custer, Smith, Connor Zilisch and Sheldon Creed rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

Almirola, racing a limited schedule for Joe Gibbs Racing this year, earned his first victory of the year at Martinsville in April.

Along with the two wins, Almirola has earned five Top-5 finishes and led 264 laps in 2024.

โ€œWhen you have a fast car, you can overcome a lot so just really proud of everybody at Joe Gibbs Racing,โ€ Almirola said.

Almirolaโ€™s victory moves the driver to a 10-way tie on the NASCAR Xfinity Series all-time wins list.

Drivers with six NXS victories include Geoff Bodine, Chase Elliott, Sam Mayer, and Rob Moroso.

Ahead of the six-win drivers are Ryan Blaney and Ryan Newman at seven wins each.

In total, Almirola has scored 11 wins across NASCARโ€™s three national touring series (three in Cup, six in Xfinity, two in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series).

The next race for the series is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5 at Talladega Superspeedway.
