This isn’t the first time a company bought the naming rights to an SMI-owned. From 1999 to 2009, Charlotte Motor Speedway was known as Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Around that same time, from 2002 to 2011, Sonoma Raceway was also known as Infineon Raceway.
In the 2010s, NASCAR had two tracks with naming rights sold to different companies. California Speedway was known as Auto Club Speedway from 2008 to 2023 when the deal expired as the track began an ongoing, stop-start conversion to a short track. Over the course of that deal, Phoenix Raceway was known as ISM Raceway from 2018 to 2020.
