Austin Green drove the No. 32 3Dimensional.com Chevrolet to a solid seventh-place finish in his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut Saturday at COTA.

If the last name sounds familiar, it’s because Austin is the son of past Xfinity Series winner David Green, whose brothers are past Xfinity champion Jeff Green and former Xfinity racer Mark Green.

Although Austin Green’s entry was technically fielded under Jordan Anderson Racing, his equipment came from Peterson Racing Group. The team that runs full-time with Green in the Trans-Am TA2 Class. Using a leased ECR motor, PRG and Green partnered with Anderson to use the No. 32 entry’s points to guarantee themselves a spot in the field.

Austin Green qualified 25th and steadily made his way through the field. Although he didn’t score any stage points, Green consistently stayed in the top-20 throughout most of the race.

As the laps winded down, Green found himself near the top-10 and even received some TV time and a shout-out from the FS1 crew.

Green managed to avoid the last-lap chaos with the leaders and finished 7th — the best finish for the No. 32 entry since Daytona.

It also came 33 years after father David Green’s first top-10 finish in the Xfinity Series.

Austin Green will attempt more Xfinity races for Peterson Racing Group. Although, it’s unclear if they’ll field it under the No. 32 entry or their own No. 87 entry.
