B.J. McLeod emerged from ensuing overtime chaos in Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 to earn a career-high 9th-place finish.

McLeod restarted 20th for the overtime restart. He avoided the final-lap, multi-car wreck on the backstretch and gained 11 spots to earn his first career Top 10 finish in the NASCAR Cup Series.

McLeod received the free pass before the overtime restart after he fell one lap down during the final stage. McLeod finished 33rd in Stage One and 32nd in Stage Two.

Josh Bilicki finished 10th. Bilicki also missed the final-lap wreck and gained five spots after restarting 15th.

Bilicki’s 10th-place finish bested his previous-best NASCAR Cup Series finish, 18th, that he earned at the Indianapolis road course.

McLeod and Bilicki are the 1058th and 1059th drivers to score a Top 10 finish in NASCAR Cup Series history.
