AVONDALE, Ariz. — Christopher Bell picked up his eighth career win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Saturday in the Whelen Trusted to Perform 200, his seventh win of 2018.

Bell, in a must-win situation to advance to the Championship 4 round of the playoffs, led the final 93 laps after starting from the rear of the field.

“I don’t know if I have ever had a NASCAR weekend where we unload and we’re just that fast,” Bell said. “…That’s what’s going to stick out to me the most.

Bell is now tied for 45th on the all-time wins list in the series, tying Clint Bowyer, Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Bowyer and Stenhouse are past champions of the series.

The final race of the year is the Ford EcoBoost 300 next Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
