Brandon Jones back to Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Brandon Jones will go back to Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025 after a two-year stint with JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Jones will rejoin JGR on a multi-year deal. He racked up his only five Xfinity Series wins with them during his five-year tenure but left in controversy after 2022.
On the final lap at Martinsville in October 2022, the final race before the Championship 4, Jones led with teammate Ty Gibbs in second. Gibbs was already locked into the Championship 4 and didn’t need to win while Jones did. Still, he bumped Jones into the wall and knocked him out of the Championship 4.
Jones ultimately missed the Championship 4 and left JGR for JRM the next season. With JRM, he has struggled. He missed the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs and went winless last season – and could do it again this season.
Now going on his 10th season in the Xfinity Series, Jones is coming back with a renewed sense of hope.
“I’m beyond excited to be returning to Joe Gibbs Racing and rejoining the Toyota Racing family,” Jones said. “My time with JGR was some of the most rewarding of my career, and I’m eager to build on that success as we chase more wins and a championship together. I’m ready to hit the ground running and make the most of this incredible opportunity.”
Jones added his commitment remains with JRM and getting in the playoffs this year.

JGR is also ready to welcome Jones back.
“We’re thrilled to have Brandon return to Joe Gibbs Racing next season,” Joe Gibbs said. “He has a proven history of success with us and is someone that we know will be in the championship hunt each year. His veteran leadership will also be a tremendous asset to our program.”
JGR’s current full-time Xfinity Series lineup consists of Chandler Smith and Sheldon Creed. They also have two full-time cars with a rotating driver lineup.
Creed is leaving JGR to join Haas Factory Team in 2025. There is no word on Smith’s plans yet.
