Brett Moffitt recovering from motocross crash

Brett Moffitt, driver of the No. 23 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, is recovering from surgery after a crash Saturday on a motocross bike, his team GMS Racing said in a statement Monday (March 16).

Moffitt, the 2018 Truck Series champion, “suffered a fracture in both of his legs,” the team said.

“Moffitt is in very good spirits and his doctors expect a full recovery,” GMS Racing said in a statement. “Rehabilitation is estimate[d] to take up to six to eight weeks.”

In the two sanctioned Truck Series races in 2020, Moffitt finished 13th at Daytona and 16th at Las Vegas.

Moffitt, 27, is fourth in the driver’s standings.
