Briscoe takes final pole of the season at Homestead
HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Chase Briscoe has taken the final pole of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
This is his second pole of the season and the 11th of his career.

Briscoe started the three-day championship weekend off fast. He led the final practice session of the season and converted that single-lap speed to the pole.
His Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin will start alongside him on the front row. Hamlin enters as one of three eligible drivers to win the 2026 championship and needs a perfect day to win his first title.
Tyler Reddick was eliminated from title contention last weekend at Martinsville Speedway. He will start third and look for his second series win in South Florida.
Chase leader Kyle Larson enters Homestead-Miami with a 67-point lead and just needs nine total points to clinch the title. He will start fourth in his bid to become a three-time Cup Series champion.
Austin Cindric had one of the best long-run cars during Friday’s practice session. He has shown vast improvement on intermediates late this season and continues that trend with his fifth place starting position.
Christopher Bell starts last among the three drivers still alive in the Chase. He also needs a perfect points day in order to win his first Cup Series title and starts behind in sixth.
For the first time since their inception since 1984 Hendrick Motorsports does not have a pole. Two of their drivers occupy the fourth row. Chase Elliott will start seventh with last weeks winner William Byron in eighth.
Finally Ryan Blaney joins his Team Penske teammate Cindric in the top ten from ninth and Daniel Suarez rounds out the final top ten starting positions of the season from tenth.
Notable Entrants
Austin Hill makes his final start as interim driver for Richard Childress Racing from 11th. The whole RCR organization has one final shot to get their first top five of the season tomorrow in the Season Finale 400.
Corey Heim rejoins the grid in his final start before he goes full-time Cup Series racing next season from 16th.
Then, Justin Haley replaces the team suspended Carson Hocevar in the Spire Motorsports No. 77 Chevrolet. He will start 26th.
Casey Mears will become the 50th driver to make 500 Cup Series starts and will start from 37th.
Finally JJ Yeley will also add to the milestone heavy weekend with his 400th career Cup Series start from 38th.
