Brown closes playoff gap with solid Road America finish

Brandon Brown closed the gap between he and Jeremy Clements for the final NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) playoff spot, following a solid Top 15 finish in Saturday’s Henry’s 180 at Road America.
Brown finished 11th and moved to being 33 points behind Clements, who holds the 12th and final NXS playoff spot.

Clements finished 28th, one lap down, after encountering brake and power steering issues during the race.
On Lap 23, Clements went to the garage with a blown power steering hose, which caused him to go three laps down. Clements received two free passes during cautions on Lap 36 and Lap 39 which moved him to one lap down.

Brown was 50 points behind Clements entering Henry’s 180 after Clements finished 28th.
Brown’s 11th-place finish is his 11th Top 15 finish of the NXS season. He has scored seven Top 10s so far this season, which is the most he has scored in a single NXS season.
The next race for the NASCAR Xfinity Series is July 10 at Atlanta Motor Speedway (3 p.m. ET; TV: NBCSN, Radio: PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
