Bubba Wallace records third Top-5 of 2024
Bubba Wallace’s fourth-place effort in the Cook Out 400 marks Wallace’s highest finish since opening the season with back-to-back Top-5 finishes.

Wallace’s Top-5 finish is his highest finish in the last six races.
“We needed that,” Wallace said. “My Toyota was strong today. We lost a little bit on that last stop. We got too free, but all-in-all, I was content in finishing sixth, and thatโs why you never give up. Top-five โ good day, and we will go on to Texas.”
Wallace started second, missing the pole by one one-thousandth of a second Saturday.
The 23XI Racing driver finished second in Stages 1 and 2, collecting 18 stage points and 51 total points on the day. The only drive who scored more was polesitter Kyle Larson (53 points), who won Stage 1, was third in Stage 3, and finished second to race-winner William Byron.
Wallace is now 12th in points with a 27-point cushion on the cutline for the playoffs.
“I appreciate all of the effort,” Wallace said. “We do a lot of stuff during the week, and Iโm finally starting to understand that it all pays off. Youโve got to give the effort, because these guys are busting their ass.
“It is days like this that you appreciate it. I appreciate all of these McDonaldโs guys โ and the men and women at the shop.”
