AVONDALE, ARIZ. – In his final NASCAR Xfinity Series race for Kaulig Racing, Jeb Burton came up short of capitalizing on a top 10 run in Saturday’s NXS championship race.

Burton finished 27th after running in and around the top 10 throughout the night. He was running near the top 10 when he was spun by Sheldon Creed in turn four on Lap 189.

“We ran top 8 or 9 all night and we were gonna finish probably 5th to 7th and Sheldon Creed wrecked us,” Burton said. “It was frustrating – another easy Top 7 gone.”

2021 was Burton’s first full-time stint since running the NASCAR Cup Series for BK Racing in 2015. The year featured some ups and downs for the 29-year-old driver.

“We won a race so that was good,” Burton We wanted to perform better than we performed, for sure. We struggled quite a bit sometimes but as a driver I learned quite a bit this year.”

Burton earned 1 win, 7 Top 5 finishes, 16 Top 10s, 84 laps led, a 13.6 average finish and a 10th-place finish in 2021.

Burton’s 2022 plans will be coming soon, according to him.

“I’m hoping, not this week but the following week, we can make an announcement and have it all done,” Burton said.
