Carson Hocevar set for fill-in NASCAR Xfinity effort with Kaulig at Iowa

NEWTON, Iowa — Carson Hocevar will drive for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Iowa Speedway after the team released Josh Williams.

On the No. 11 team page, Kaulig listed Carson Hocevar as the driver for the weekend. It comes after the team released Williams on Wednesday.

Hocevar has six career Xfinity Series starts with two top-10 finishes – sixth at Darlington Raceway and eighth at Charlotte Motor Speedway with Spire Motorsports in May 2023. The inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race in June 2024 is his only start at Iowa. He finished on the lead lap in 14th that night.

Kaulig Racing has struggled this season in the Xfinity Series. Fresh off of a Championship 4 appearance, Christian Eckes is 16th in the points standings at -69 points to the playoff cutline while Daniel Dye is 17th at -78 and Williams is 19th at -143. At this point, all of them would need a win to get into the playoffs as they are more than a race worth of points away from the cutline.
