Carson Hocevar to make NASCAR Cup Series debut at Gateway

Amid the fallout from Chase Elliott’s one-race suspension, Carson Hocevar will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Gateway this Sunday.
Hocevar will drive Spire Motorsports’ No. 7 Chevrolet while LaJoie fills in for Elliott.
His debut comes one year after breaking his leg on the final lap of a NASCAR Truck race at Gateway. It also comes after a pair of strong top-10 runs to kick off his NASCAR Xfinity Series career.
Hocevar finished sixth at Darlington in his Xfinity Series debut. Then, he finished eighth at Charlotte in his second series start.
Each start was in Spire’s No. 77 car.
Hocevar sits eighth in the Truck Series points but sixth on the playoff grid. He has seven earned playoff points – the fourth-most of any driver.
