Carson Kvapil wows NASCAR world with near-win at Dover
Carson Kvapil rattled off a second-place finish in the BetRivers 200 Saturday at Dover Motor Speedway.

The stat line will show Kvapil opened his NASCAR Xfinity Series career with two Top-5 finishes in his first two races, but the JR Motorsports rookie had a chance to pull off the victory.
Kvapil took the lead in a three-wide pass on Sheldon Creed and Austin Hill down the frontstretch. The young driver commanded the race as he held strong while Hill spun trying to challenge him during the first overtime.
Kvapil led the field to the green flag on the final restart in the second NASCAR Overtime, ultimately losing a side-by-side battle with race winner Ryan Truex.
“I had a good car, I just couldn’t get off the restart box,โ Kvapil said. โOur car was good on the bottom all day, I just couldn’t get him (Truex) on the outside.”
Kvapil led a total of 14 laps before Truex made the pass.
“Man, Carson. He was impressive in his second ever start,โ Truex said. โI felt bad running him up the hill but you gotta take these opportunities when you can.”
