In addition to racing full time in the NASCAR Cup Series, Chase Elliott will also compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro. In addition, he will also race in both CARS Tour divisions.

Elliott will begin his weekend driving in the CARS Pro Late Model Division race on Friday. He will drive the No. 9 Chevrolet for Fr8 Racing. The team is also based in Elliott’s hometown of Dawsonville, Georgia.

Then he will run in the CARS Late Model Stock Divison race, in the No. 8 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports. He will carry sponsorship from NAPA Auto Parts, his main Cup sponsor.

Elliott also currently drivers part time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series for JR. He drove the No. 88 to a second place run at Chicagoland after leading the most laps. He’ll drive the car again at Indianapolis.

On Saturday, he’ll then drive the No. 7 in the Truck Series for Spire Motorsports. This will be Elliott’s first truck start since 2023, when he ran the No. 35 Chevrolet for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing at Daytona.

He also previously ran for Spire in the Bristol Dirt Oval in 2022 where he finished seventh. He’s won three times in the Truck Series with the last coming in 2020 at Charlotte.

He won’t be the only Cup driver running the truck race as Christopher Bell, Shane Van Gisbergen, and Carson Hocevar will also be competing.

Originally, Kyle Busch was scheduled to drive the truck this weekend before his tragic passing in May.

Then on Sunday, Elliott will run in the first Cup points paying race at North Wilkesboro since 1996. He ran in all three of the All-Star races as part of the track’s return from 2023 to 2025. His best finish in the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro is a fifth in both 2023 and 2025.

Elliott sits fifth in points and has two wins this season in Cup. However, he hasn’t scored a top ten finish in seven races at Nashville. With the extra track time this weekend, he could have a chance to change that and have a shot to clinch a spot in the Chase in the coming weeks.
