Chase Elliott ties Terry Labonte on NASCAR wins list
With his win in the Cook Out 400 Sunday, Chase Elliott picked up his 22nd career NASCAR Cup Series win, tying him with two-time series champion Terry Labonte on the series’ wins list.
Labonte and Elliott are both tied for 38th all-time.
“Yeah, just nice to kind of get to end this first stretch of the season going into the off week with the win is really cool,” Elliott said post-race. “I mean, I know we still have a lot of room for improvement, don’t get me wrong, but great way to kind of cap off this first stretch.
“A lot of good momentum for the whole organization, honestly, I think.”
Elliott led 84 laps en route to his first win of the season, extending a streak of at least one victory in each of the last three seasons, and in eight of the last nine years.
The 2020 series champion broke an 11-race losing streak, dating back to Kansas Speedway in October 2025.
Ahead of Elliott and Labonte on the wins list are Ricky Rudd (23 wins), Jim Paschal (25), Joe Weatherly (25), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (26), and Fred Lorenzen.
