Chastain, Busch top Phoenix Xfinity practices
Ross Chastain opened the day and the weekend off with being the fastest in the first Xfinity Series practice Friday. He drove his no. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet to the fastest time of 27.563 seconds (130.610 MPH average), just over a tenth faster than no. 22 Austin Cindric who posted a time of 27.694 seconds (129.992 MPH average).
In the second practice, Chastain would post a best time of 28.134 seconds (127.959 MPH average), just a little over three tenths slower than no. 54 Kyle Busch. Busch was fastest in second practice with his fastest time of 27.797 seconds (129.510 MPH average). Busch posted the 11th fastest time of 27.929 seconds (128.898 MPH average) in the first practice.
Points leader and most recent winner Harrison Burton was fifth fastest in first practice with a time of 27.750 seconds (129.730 MPH average) and 12th fastest in second practice with a time of 28.127 seconds (127.991 MPH average).
The full top 10 in first practice were as follows: Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Ryan Sieg, Brad Keselowski, Harrison Burton, Justin Allgaier, Chase Briscoe, Justin Haley, Noah Gragson and Brandon Jones.
The full top 10 in second practice were as follows: Kyle Busch, Justin Allgaier, Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe, Alex Labbe, Ryan Sieg, Brad Keselowski, Justin Haley, Riley Herbst and Daniel Hemric.
The Xfinity Series cars qualify tomorrow for the LS Tractor 200 at 1:05 pm EST (TV: FS1) and the race will be tomorrow at 4 pm EST (TV: FS1; Radio: MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
