LAS VEGAS—Ross Chastain is now a winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Chastain led a majority of the laps and swept the first two stages en route to victory in Saturday’s DC Solar 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Florida-native drove his second start in the No. 42.

“As soon as I did the second set of burnouts, it was real,” Chastain said to The Racing Experts.

Chastain became the 156th different Xfinity Series winner in the history of NASCAR’s second-tier series. His previous highest finish was fourth-place twice in his prior 131 starts.

The 25-year-old has competed in the series driving for JD Motorsports since 2015 and has run all but two races this year for the organization.

There were no issues or penalties to report post-race, per NASCAR.

Justin Allgaier finished second, Cole Custer was third, Christopher Bell was fourth and Elliott Sadler was fifth.

The other first-time winner in 2018 was Spencer Gallagher at Talladega in April.

The next race for the series is Friday night at Richmond Raceway.
