Chris Buescher: ‘Second hurts way worse than third or fourth’

KANSAS CITY, Ks. — When you have the closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history, someone has to come up short – and Chris Buescher did.

Buescher lost in a literal photo finish. Although timing and scoring showed Buescher ahead when he and Kyle Larson came to the line in a dead heat, an official review of the finish photo showed Larson out in front by a sliver.

Buescher had to cut his celebration short when officials made the decision. He was dejected when interviewed on pit road:
