Clements and Black Jr. post strong Kansas Xfinity Series finishes
KANSAS CITY, Kan — Jeremy Clements and Ray Black Jr posted career-best Kansas NASCAR Xfinity Series finishes in Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300.
Clements, who started sixth, ended up finishing sixth as well but fought through some challenges throughout the day.
“It was a hard fought day, we really made a ton of adjustments, started off super tight,” Clements said, “We had some different battles, pit stop penalties, had to start in the back twice and was able to overcome that.”
Black Jr, who started his second Kansas Xfinity start Saturday, finished 14th in what was not only his best Xfinity Kansas finish but his best finish at Kansas among any of the top three series. Black Jr is in his second full-time Xfinity season.
“We’re gonna try going really strong at Texas ‘cause we ran well in the Spring,” Black Jr said, “then we got Phoenix where we ran top 20.”
“We just need to get tires so we can race in the top 20 and for 15th in points against Brandon Brown because we want to beat them.”
Black Jr is currently 16th in points, 23 points behind Brown.
