Cole Custer back to NASCAR Cup Series in 2025
SPEEDWAY, Ind. — Defending NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer will head back to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025, he announced Saturday.

Custer will drive the No. 41 Haas Automation Ford Mustang for the Haas Factory Team in the NASCAR Cup Series. This puts Ryan Preece, the current driver of the No. 41 Ford, in limbo as he hasn’t announced any plans.
HFT is forming from the remnants of Stewart-Haas Racing, whom they race for now. HFT also plans to field two Xfinity Series cars next year.
Cole Custer raced for three seasons in the Cup Series in the No. 41 SHR Ford. He produced just a win, two Top-5 finishes and 12 Top-10s from 2020-22.
Custer moved back to the Xfinity Series last year. In year one, he earned three wins, 14 Top-5 finishes, 21 Top-10s and the championship. In his title defense, he has a win, eight Top-5s and 15 Top-10s in the first 19 races – plus seven weeks atop the points standings.
