AVONDALE, Ariz. — With Chase Elliott winning the 2020 championship, Brad Keselowsi, Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin finished in positions two through four on the final Championship 4 grid.

Brad Keselowski’s second-place finish in the race earned the Team Penske driver his first runner-up finish in points and his best points finish since his 2012 series title.

“I feel like I did all I could do,” Keselowski said. “You know, with that in mind, you try to shake it off and move on.

“I mean, I can’t change anything about what happened, and I hate it for my guys that that’s the way it played out, but so it goes.”

Logano led 125 laps en route to his third-place finish.

“We had good track position,” Logano said. “Our pit crew was on it just like they’ve been through this whole Playoffs. Like I said it before, they’re a pressure team. They love the pressure and they truly rise to the occasion. They did that the whole race.

“They did itm even the last stop under green. Was able to get ourselves out in front of the 9 by a pretty good distance. And like I said, the 9 just kind of fired off a lot faster and kept going.”

Hamlin started and finished in fourth. He was the only title contender to not lead any laps in the race.

“You’ve got to make sure you put your expectations kind of in check in the sense of, you know, we didn’t,” Hamlin said. “Our organization hasn’t really been very good on the short tracks this year.  It’s kind of a learning period for us.

“But we put our best effort forward.  We had no mistakes today, did everything I possibly could, just I had nothing there to go.”

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver bottomed out the Championship 4 for a second consecutive season.
