Day posted the fastest timed lap in qualifying Friday at Rockingham Speedway (22.717 seconds) to score his first career pole in what will be his 19th career start.

Prior to this weekend, Day’s highest qualifying effort in the series was sixth-place twice.

In his 18 NOAPS starts, Day, who is looking for his first career win, has four Top-5 finishes and eight Top-10 finishes.

Jesse Love, the defending series champion, starts beside Day on the front row.

Parker Retzlaff, Justin Allgaier, and Carson Kvapil rounded out the Top-5 starters.

Cleetus McFarland, the YouTube star making his highly-anticipated NOAPS debut, qualified 35th.

The North Carolina Education Lottery 250 is scheduled for Saturday (April 4) at 2:30 p.m. ET.
