Dale Earnhardt Jr. earns Top-5 at Homestead-Miami

In his second and final start of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished fifth in Saturday’s Contender Boats 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Earnhardt Jr. qualified his No. 88 Chevrolet in 23rd, and despite not placing inside the Top-10 in the first two stages, earned a fifth-place finish — his first Top-5 since a fifth-place run at Homestead in 2020.
“We were able to finish really good, I’m happy about it,” Earnhardt Jr. said.
For Dale Earnhardt Jr., his two starts in 2023 were the most he’s made in the series in one season since 2017.
Earnhardt Jr. raced at Bristol in August, leading laps before am in-car fire ended his day.

Earnhardt Jr. is a 24-time winner in the series, claiming the 1998 and 1999 championships. From there, Earnhardt Jr. graduated to the Cup Series full-time in 2000, earning 26 wins including two Daytona 500’s.
