Daytona 500: Odds, times, lineup and more

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — It’s that time of the year again. The 2024 Daytona 500 is February 18 and we have the odds on-favorites.

No surprise, Ryan Blaney was the odds-on favorite for the 2024 Daytona 500 but he has rivals going into the NASCAR Cup Series season opener.

Denny Hamlin, the winningest active driver in the Daytona 500 (3 wins), tops DraftKings, Caesars and BetMGM. This year’s Busch Light at the Coliseum winner is a top-2 favorite at every sportsbook we checked.

Joey Logano stands tall with the most points (116) earned in the last three editions of the 500. Behind Bubba Wallace (who we’ll get to), he has the best average finish in the last six Daytona races (12.5).

Logano tops the other sportsbooks Hamlin doesn’t and is also a top-2 favorite everywhere.

Going into the weekend, five of the six sportsbooks had Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski on top. They still remain among the six prominent favorites.

Blaney, the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion, has finished second in the Daytona 500 in 2017 and 2020. Should he finish second again, he would tie Terry Labonte for most second-place finishes in the 500 without a win.

Keselowski is still looking for his first Daytona 500 win. He has earned the second-most points (101) of any driver in the last three 500s and has had the best average running position (8.4), according to statistician Trey Ryan’s figures.

The odds also favor Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch who each showed strength in the Duels.

Elliott also has the most top-10 finishes (4) of any driver in the last six editions of the Daytona 500.

MID-RANGE FAVORITES

Defending Daytona 500 winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is not among the odds-on favorites but he’s not far off – and that is good for you if you’re betting.

Stenhouse’s odds at BetMGM are +3500, for example.

Bubba Wallace has finished second twice in the Daytona 500 – 2018 and 2022 – but never won and doesn’t want to tie that aforementioned record, like Blaney.

In the last six Daytona races, Wallace has the best average finish (10.7) of anyone in the field. In the last three 500s, he has earned the third-most points (96) of any driver.

Wallace stood at +2000 before the Duel races. However, like other Toyota drivers, his odds went down afterward, but still he is at +1800. Not a bad value pick.

Jones and Johnson are part of the Toyota brigade that look very strong in race trim. They sit at +2500 and +6000, respectively.

Meanwhile, Corey LaJoie has earned the 10th-most points in the last three editions of the Daytona 500. He sits at around +5000.

Riley Herbst had a top-10 finish in the 500 and a top-10 at Talladega in the fall after leading 10 of 188 laps.

With two strong teammates, David Ragan is also someone you never want to count out of a drafting track race, either.
