Deegan nets career-best finish at Gateway

Hailie Deegan was one of three drivers to post their first Top 10 finish of 2021 in Friday night’s Toyota 200 at World Wide Technology Raceway Gateway.

Deegan finished seventh and earned her best-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series finish.

She has scored three Top 15 finishes this season with a best finish of 13th at Kansas and Charlotte but her seventh-place finish was her first-ever Top 10 finish.

Finishing one position better was Chase Purdy who earned a sixth-place finish.

Entering Gateway, Purdy’s best finish was 15th at Nashville and Pocono. He was also 19th in points following the Watkins Glen race he missed after testing positive for COVID-19.

Purdy’s teammate, Jack Wood, finished 10th and also earned his best career NCWTS finish.
