Dystany Spurlock returning to Truck Series at home track
Dystany Spurlock will make her return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Richmond Raceway, her home track. Spurlock will drive the No. 2 Ford for Team Reaume in what will be her first start since Dover in May.

She will also carry sponsorship from Foxtecca, who has sponsored her in the majority of her starts in Trucks and ARCA. Spurlock is also the first ever black woman to run a NASCAR national series race. In a Team Reaume press release, team owner Josh Reaume said, “We are excited to welcome Dystany to Team Reaume and give her the opportunity to compete in front of her hometown fans at Richmond Raceway.”
Luke Baldwin at first was to run the No. 2 truck at Richmond, but for unknown reasons is not.
In addition to racing at Richmond, she will also make an appearance at her former high school. Highland Springs High School will welcome her for their homecoming celebration. Getting a chance to celebrate with her community will give her a big confidence boost going into racing at home.
Spurlock made the transition from drag racing motorcycles to NASCAR this year. She joined MBM for a part time schedule in both ARCA and Trucks. Her ARCA East debut occurred at Hickory in the No. 66 Ford where she finished an impressive seventh on the lead lap.
She’s made five starts in the main ARCA Menards Series division with a best finish of 10th at Kansas. At IRP, she also notably partnered with the She Pivots podcast, created by Emily Tisch Sussman, who co-owns the New York Giants and Gotham FC. She Pivots will serve as an associate sponsor on the No. 2 truck this week.
In the Truck Series, she attempted her debut at Watkins Glen in the No. 69 for MBM, but missed the show after not having enough owner points to use a provisional. At Dover, she made the race after a full field of 36 trucks entered. She qualified in 34th and while keeping pace, she unfortunately wrecked out hard early on lap 36 and finished 36th.
There are 39 trucks on the entry list at Richmond. Three will miss the show. The No. 2 truck sits 33rd in owner points.
Getting the chance to race at her home track is a dream come true for Spurlock. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will race at Richmond for the Black’s Tire 250 presented by BTS Rewards on Friday, Aug. 14 at 7:30 PM EST.
