Elliott Sadler will lead the field to the green flag for tonight’s U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway. This is Sadler’s 18th career pole in the Xfinity Series.

“We’ve been fast since we unloaded. This U.S. Cellular Chevy has been good. They’re sponsoring the race so they had some pressure on us so it’s cool to sit on the pole. I’m just proud of my guys.

“This is one of our playoff cars. We decided to bring it here because  it’d give us a good opportunity to win so it’s cool that it’s showing we got speed and to sit on the pole is a good first step and we’ll try to make the most of it during the race.”

Sadler posted the fastest lap of 23.576 seconds (133.610 mph.) Cole Custer will start second, followed by Christopher Bell and Kyle Benjamin. Tyler Reddick, Sadler’s JRM teammate, will start from the fifth position.

Sadler, who is still seeking his first win of the season, has had success at the famed .78-mile short track.

The driver of the No. 1 has 13 top-ten finishes in 15 starts and has not reached Victory Lane since 2012.

The U.S. Cellular 250 is slated to begin at 5:20 p.m. ET. on NBCSN.
