Elliott Sadler looks to continue hot streak at Iowa

The NASCAR XFINITY Series is headed to the Iowa Speedway this weekend, located about 30 miles east of Des Moines. There is one driver who is on a hot streak at Iowa—series points leader Elliott Sadler.
“I always look forward to Iowa – it’s one of my stronger tracks and it’s always a fun and challenging race,” Sadler said in a press release.
“We had a rocket of a car last year, just had a little bit of bad luck. I’m confident my guys will unload another fast Chevrolet and perform again this weekend. This is a track where I know we can win.”
Sadler enters the Iowa 250 with momentum on his side after scoring top 10 finishes in all but one NASCAR XFINITY Series events this season. Sadler finished 30th in the rain-shortened event at Michigan International Speedway last week after the team was unable to recover from a strategy that didn’t pan out.
Sadler has 14 starts at the speedway in NASCAR’s second-tier series and has qualified and finished inside the top 15 in every start in his career at Iowa.
Sadler has since struggled to stay in front of the field since the victory in 2012, leading 18 laps across his last ten starts at the 7/8th-mile short track.
The XFINITY Series points leader is seeking his first victory of the 2018 season. If Sadler finds victory lane, it will be his second win at Iowa Speedway and his 14th career victory.
