Elliott Sadler, Ty Dillon crash early in Xfinity race at Indianapolis

Elliott Sadler IndianapolisElliott Sadler’s bid for a victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was wiped away Monday in the Lilly Diabetes 250.

While entering Turn 2 on lap 22, Ty Dillon apparently got loose while running three-wide and slid sideways down the middle of the turn. Sadler was unable to avoid the spinning No. 3 machine, and made contact with Dillon.

Sadler and Dillon both ended up in the wall. They finished 35th and 33rd respectively.

The race was Sadler’s last start at Indianapolis. Last month, the veteran-driver announced his retirement from NASCAR.
