Erik Jones earns third consecutive Top-10 finish at paved Bristol

Amid an eventful final 100 laps in Saturday’s Bass Pro Shops/NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Erik Jones quietly cruised to his third consecutive Top-10 finish on the track’s paved configuration.
Jones finished eighth, following up a fifth-place finish in May 2020 and a third-place finish in September 2020. Jones also earned a ninth-place finish during the March race on the dirt configuration.
“Solid day for the Air Force Chevy and glad we could get them a top ten run there,” Jones said. “We had some damage on the right side and the balance was just a bit tight to run further forward than we did but proud of the effort and hope we can keep the good runs going.”
Jones spent 63% of the 500-lap race inside the Top 15, marking his second-best race behind only the March Bristol dirt race. He also tied Kyle Busch for the 10th-most fastest laps run, at 13, of the 38-driver field.
Jones’s best finish this season is seventh in last month’s Indianapolis road course.
