Logano keeps Ford undefeated for Cup pole at new Atlanta

HAMPTON, GA. — Ford remains undefeated in winning the pole in the NASCAR Cup Series on the new configuration of EchoPark Speedway Atlanta.

Joey Logano earned the pole in a tiebreaker with Josh Berry who also ran a lap around EchoPark in 30.979 seconds. Penske pal Ryan Blaney wasn’t far behind, running a lap just 0.004 seconds off of theirs. Blaney will start on the second row with teammate Austin Cindric, who also ran within a tenth of a second of the pole lap.

Logano, Berry, Blaney and Cindric will lead a pack of eight Ford drivers to the green flag. Ryan Preece, Brad Keselowski, Cole Custer and Zane Smith will lead Alex Bowman — the highest-starting Chevrolet driver in ninth — and Chase Briscoe — the highest-starting Toyota driver in tenth.

Kyle Larson will start 11th. He won’t have his car chief as his team had to go through tech inspection too many times.

In 28th through 37th are Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch, Carson Hocevar, Daniel Suarez, Michael McDowell, Denny Hamlin, Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen, Connor Zilisch and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Bell and Hocevar went 1-2 in a three-wide finish under caution in the spring. Busch and Suarez went three-wide under green in spring 2024.

Suarez’s teammates are back there with him, which will be important. Like Stenhouse, McDowell and Hocevar, Suarez still needs a win this season — and Atlanta is a golden opportunity.

Here is the lineup for the NASCAR Cup Series’ Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway Atlanta:
