Ty Gibbs scores first NASCAR Cup win at Bristol

Ty Gibbs held off charges from Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson in NASCAR Overtime to score his first NASCAR Cup Series win Sunday in the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Gibbs led 25 laps en route to the win.

“This is such a great deal, honored to be in this situation,” Gibbs said of his win.

Blaney, who led 190 laps, finished second. Larson led the most laps, 284, but settled for third.

Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

Stage 3

Lap 498: CAUTION! Riley Herbst spins, race will be going to overtime.

Lap 485: Gibbs and Briscoe restart on the front row.

Lap 480: Blaney and Larson pit. Gibbs will inherit the lead. Gibbs, Hocevar, Briscoe, Hamlin, and Reddick stay out.

Lap 477: Chase Elliott spins. He was one lap down in 17th. Caution. 13 drivers on the lead lap.

Lap 465: Ryan Blaney’s lead over Ty Gibbs has shortened to .85 seconds.

Lap 444: Ty Gibs to second, over 2 seconds behind race leader Ryan Blaney.

Lap 400: Blaney, Larson, Gibbs, Gilliland, Logano the Top-5

Lap 390: Blaney and Larson lead the field to the green.

Lap 382: Caution for Connor Zilisch. He is scored 31st, 3 laps down.

Lap 338: Blaney moves Larson for the lead.

Lap 320: Larson, Hamlin lead field back to green.

Lap 312: Caution for a Kyle Busch spin, Riley Herbst got into him in Turn 4. Jones, McDowell and Bell also involved.

Lap 291: Larson leads Blaney by nearly 2 second. Hamlin, Gibbs, Briscoe the Top-5.

Lap 151: Larson and Briscoe lead the field to the green.

Lap 144: Spin for Christopher Bell.

Lap 137: Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin lead the field to green.

Lap 133: Christopher Bell to the rear after a pit road speeding penalty under the caution. Nemechek and McDowell too.

Lap 95: Larson has extended his 2.1 second lead over Berry. Bell Blaney and Elliott the Top-5.

Lap 73: Larson back out front. Berry second, Bell third.

Lap 70: Restart Top-10 order is Elliott, Blaney, Larson, Blaney, Bell, Herbst, Chastain, Cindric, Briscoe, Hocevar. 34 drivers on the lead lap.

Lap 64: Leaders pit, Kyle Larson first off pit road. Chase Elliott and Josh Berry stay out. Reddick with a speeding penalty.

Lap 62: Caution for a Brad Keselowski spin. He is scored 28th, the last car on the lead lap.

The NASCAR Cup Series makes its eighth stop of the 2026 season at Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500.

Ryan Blaney starts on the pole. In his NASCAR return, Alex Bowman will start 27th.

Jake Garcia starts on the pole for the Blackโ€™s Tire 200.
