Haas Factory Team to switch to Chevrolet in 2026
MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Haas Factory Team confirmed they will switch from Ford to Chevrolet for its NASCAR operations in 2026.

As part of the switch to Chevrolet, Haas Factory Team will have a technical alliance with Hendrick Motorsports. That will include using Hendrick-built engines across both series they compete in.
“We have a long history with Gene and his organization, including winning championships together, so this feels almost like a homecoming,” said Rick Hendrick. “Our relationship started many years ago with Haas CNC machines in our facilities, and I’ve always admired the passion that he and Joe Custer have for the sport and their desire to win. We’re proud to support Haas Factory Team and thrilled to work together to deliver more victories for Chevrolet.”
The organization will also retain its current driver roster in the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series, which will be called the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2026. Cole Custer will drive a No. 41 Chevrolet in the Cup Series while Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer will drive the Nos. 00 and 41 Chevrolet entries in the O’Reilly’s Series.
Haas started his team in 2002 with Chevrolet and Hendrick support. He stayed with that until 2017 when the Haas-co-owned Stewart-Haas Racing switched to Ford. Moving back to Chevrolet It all comes full circle for team owner Gene Haas.
“Personally, I have a deep history with Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports,” Haas said. “Both helped in establishing not only my presence as a team owner in NASCAR, but also the presence of Haas Automation. Together, we were able to build a race team that competed for wins and championships while growing the use of Haas CNC machinery throughout the racing and manufacturing industries.”
The move confirms rumors about Haas switching to Chevrolet. Rumors also swirled out the possibility of Legacy Motor Club purchasing Haas if their lawsuit didn’t work out against Rick Ware Racing but Friday’s move seems to quell that possibility.
