Homestead-Miami NASCAR race postponed

The Dixie Vodka 400 scheduled for Sunday, March 22 has been postponed, officials announced Thursday (March 12).
“Miami-Dade County is under a state of emergency, as we deal with the public health threat of COVID-19… the March 22 NASCAR race at the Homestead Miami Speedway is postponed at this time,” the news release said.
“NASCAR officials will decide whether or not to hold the race without fans.”
The Homestead-Miami Cup Series race was scheduled to be the sixth race on schedule in 2020, moving from its spot as the championship finale from 2002 to 2019.
The statement comes from Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez.
