In his final race at his hometown track of Kansas Speedway, Clint Bowyer finished 26th in his No. 14 Dekalb Ford Mustang.

Bowyer ran in the top 15 for 227 of 267 laps run on Sunday, finishing ninth in stage one and tenth in stage two. However, Bowyer ran into issues later, hitting the wall with less than 30 laps to go in the race. Bowyer was forced to pit, knocking him outside of the top 15 and to a 26th-place finish, one lap down.

Although Clint Bowyer scored a chilly 26th-place finish in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, Bowyer received many warm tributes before and during the race.

Tributes to Clint Bowyer consisted of a career highlight reel in his pre-race introduction, “Thank You Clint”s painted on the wall, Bowyer leading the field under pre-race pacing, a human “14” formed by fans camping on the backstretch and “14”s on the scoreboard on Lap 14.

Bowyer sits 14th in Cup points heading into next week’s race at Texas (3:30 p.m. ET; TV: NBCSN; Radio: PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
