How each NASCAR Cup Series playoff driver has done at Darlington

Sunday night kicks off the 20th NASCAR Cup Series playoffs and the 7th edition of the current 16-driver format.
For the fourth year in a row, Darlington Raceway will be the first race of the playoffs.
After three races (Darlington, Kansas, Bristol), the drivers with the four lowest point totals — without a win in the first round — will be eliminated from championship contention.
Below is a look at each seed and their history at Darlington Raceway.
No. 1 William Byron (2,036 points)
Byron is the most recent winner at Darlington, taking the checkered flag in May’s race.
In 10 Cup Series starts, Byron has 1 pole, 1 win, 3 Top-5 finishes and 4 Top-10s.
No. 2 Martin Truex Jr. (2,036 points)
Truex has earned two victories at Darlington; the 2016 Southern 500 and the 2021 spring race.
His 22 starts consist of 1 pole, 2 wins, 4 Top-5 finishes, 10 Top-10 finishes and 914 laps led.
No. 3 Denny Hamlin (2,025 points)
Hamlin has the most wins among the active competition at four, with victories in 2010, 2017, 2020 and 2021.
