Injury to sideline Bell crew chief Adam Stevens

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — The crew chief for Christopher Bell will be away from the track the next few weeks as his recovers from a double knee injury.

Adam Stevens suffered the injury while on vacation with his family. According to a Joe Gibbs Racing rep, Stevens underwent successful surgery to repair both knees and is now recovering. While he’s recovering, he will work remotely for a few weeks. Car chief Chris Sherwood will serve as his crew chief in his absence.

“I hate that I won’t be at the track for a few weeks, but I will be fully engaged remotely. I am very thankful for the depth and strength of this 20 team and don’t anticipate my physical absence having any effect on our performance. The surgery went well, and I will be back at the track in a few weeks,” Stevens said.

Stevens will work in the “war room” at JGR headquarters in Huntersville, N.C., during the upcoming races.
