Hendrick Motorsports vice chairman Jeff Gordon stopped by the parked No. 48 Chevrolet near the exit of the Texas Motor speedway pit road, high-fiving members of the No. 48 crew.

“The fun part for me now is seeing these guys… the behind the scenes of the effort they put into it, the struggles that they have, the challenges that they face and overcoming those,” Gordon said to The Racing Experts

“Nobody has faced bigger challenges than that 48 team and what they’ve been through.”

For Bowman, two straight third-place finishes have given the racer his first back-to-back Top-5 finishes in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2024.

“To see them smiling and happy and building something and building some momentum, I love that,” Gordon said. “I love being a part of that and seeing that happen.”

Bowman moved up two spots to 34th in the driver’s standings following Fort Worth. He is 127 points behind 16th-place Chase Briscoe, who holds the final Chase playoff position.

“It’s nice to get this team some good finishes,” Bowman said post-race. “It’s been tough on them this year and glad to bring home back-to-back third-place finishes.”

Before the Talladega race, where Bowman’s Top-5 streak started, Bowman’s deficit to the playoff outline was 167.

Mathematically, Bowman would need to make up approximately an 8.5 average points per race on the cutline to qualify for the Chase.
