Jimmie Johnson to test an IndyCar next month

Seven-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson announced Wednesday on Twitter that he will be testing an IndyCar at Barber Motorsports Park.
Johnson will be testing an IndyCar with Arrow McLaren Schmidt Peterson Motorsports that currently fields entries for Patricio O’Ward and Oliver Askew.
IndyCar will be running at Barber April 5, the same day Johnson will be running at Bristol for the NASCAR Cup Series. It’s likely that Johnson will test with Arrow sometime during the week of April 5 but no specific details have been announced.
The April test will be the first for the seven-time Cup champion who has speculated about running other motorsports, including IndyCar, after he retires from full-time Cup competition this season.
Johnson currently sits fifth in the NASCAR Cup Series standings with two top 10s in three races, including a fifth place in race two at Las Vegas.
